The Saga Concludes, 19th February

The wait is nearly over, and The Silence Of The Sea, Part Three of the Cypress Branches Trilogy, is released on 19th February, a little over two weeks from today. The Kindle version is available to pre-order now. The paperback will be available to order the day before publication, ready for next day delivery on Amazon. Other retailers will be offering it in due course.

I would like to thank all my family and friends who have encouraged me to finish this particular project, and also thank them for their patience - particularly those who have waited so long to read the final instalment. It was never my intention to allow the publication date to slip back so far, but you know how life goes sometimes…I do hope you enjoy reading the conclusion to Harry, Lesley and Mary’s story as much as I have enjoyed preparing it. I think you’ll agree it was worth the wait.

There will be little to mark the publication date, other than you’ll find it for sale on Amazon and other selected retailers. There will be a small family gathering in April to celebrate, and I may try my hand at some online advertising, but otherwise, I will just allow the books to be there if anyone would like to read them.

I’m incredibly proud of my grandfather’s achievements with these novels, and I’m happy with my efforts to see them get into print, but I know that they are a very niche read, and won’t be to everyone’s taste. It has been incredibly hard to break through the self-publishing wall - a very crowded market in itself, which battles daily for readers’ attention against a very well-funded traditional publishing machine. My main aim was to create a series of books which I could be proud of, and which Gramps would be happy with. I like to think that aim has been achieved. It is heartwarming to know that a fairly large number of people across the globe have read at least one of the books. Hopefully a few more are to follow.

I’ll be printing a limited number of copies of The Silence Of The Sea, together with a short re-print of Pegasus Falling, and distributing copies of all three books to those who want them. These won’t be sold as such, but given to those who are likely to read them, who will in turn be encouraged to pass them on to friends and family.

What happens next is down to fate, in a way. If you, dear reader, have enjoyed reading the books, you are in just as strong a position as me to help spread the word and encourage others to read them. I’ll be tweeting the occasional link, and updating the website, talking to friends and colleagues, and I would encourage you to do the same. If you have any other ideas how we might get the trilogy in front of a wider audience, I’m all ears - but bear in mind, resources are limited!

All there is left to say is, thanks again for your patience and enthusiasm. It has been a painstakingly long wait for this book to arrive, but it is finally here. Enjoy!

New Website and a New Look

It has been a long time coming, but here it is, the brand new Cypress Branches website.

With the imminent publication of The Silence Of The Sea, and the completion of the trilogy in paperback, I thought it was high time to sweep out the bits that weren’t working and create a new brand worthy of the books. Gone are the Acute Angle books branding and the shop no-one knew was there, and in comes a new, fresher, more consistent look. I hope it’s simple, effective and a lot more enjoyable to browse.

It is all still new though, so if you do see anything amiss, or if there’s a feature you’d like to suggest, please let me know by getting in touch on the Contact Us page.
